About

🖼️ Joshua J. A. Braun first encountered Impressionism on an elementary school field trip, and the expressive brushstrokes and clever use of color continue to inspire him today. He finds painting from life to be a grounding experience and a challenging constraint, and you can often find him outdoors practicing plein air painting, often by bicycle. He hopes to deepen and share joy, gratitude, and connection through his work. Though still new to sharing his art with the public, his work has been exhibited at local venues including The Studio Door and San Diego Pride events.
🌎 Josh tries to keep his environmental impact low, and many of his materials are sourced from thrift shops, estate sales, and dumpsters. All frames are thrifted and refit by hand, most event displays and signage are upcycled, and all journals and craft kits are upcycled. Most newer pieces are made using non-toxic, plant-based paints.
